Tom began repairing cars at a very early age with his father, who is also a mechanic. At first he would occasionally help him with his race car which quickly evolved into assisting him with customer cars and various other projects once he realized that Tom really had a knack for taking things apart and fixing them.
Tom received his first formal automotive education at Center of Applied Technology North in Severn, MD, while attending high school. Here he completed courses in pre-engineering, electrical theory and repair, steering & suspension theory and repair, diesel engine theory and repair, and gasoline engine theory and repair. To this day, Tom still attends approximately 5 technical classes per year to continue his education on new technology.
